• For intravenous anesthesia, the following preparations are successfully used: Xyla (“Interchemie werken “De Adelaar” B.V”, Netherlands), Gabapentin (“Kanonfarma Production CJSC”, Russia), Zoletil 100 (“Virbac”, France), and Rometar (“Spofa”, Czech Republic).
• Inhalational anesthesia with Aerane (Isoflurane) (“Baxter”, USA) in laboratory animals also allows achieving the required depth of anesthesia and maintaining it until the completion of the entire procedure. Animals receive the anesthetic along with inhaled oxygen via an adapter located inside the optical imaging system, a special mask, or in an anesthetic chamber. Inhalational anesthesia is more controllable than intravenous, as the drugs are rapidly eliminated from the body.
